The theme and main logo for the 2025 Spring Festival Gala were
officially introduced on November 29, 2024. This great event, which
marks the Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac(生肖), promises to be a
celebration filled with joy and traditional Chinese culture. The theme for
this year’s gala is “Si Si Ru Yi, Sheng Sheng Bu Xi.”, which carries deep
cultural and symbolic meanings. People are very excited to see this new
logo and can’t wait for the 2025 Spring Festival Gala to start.
The time from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. is called “Si Shi”(巳时) in traditional
Chinese timekeeping. In this system, a day is divided into 12 parts, and
each part is two hours long. “Si” in Chinese means the sixth part of the
day, when the sun is high in the sky, symbolizing the rise of Yang energy and the hiding of Yin
energy. It’s a time when everything seems to wake up and come to life, creating a beautiful scene.
By using “Si Si Ru Yi” as the theme, the 2025 Spring Festival Gala hopes to bring good wishes to
every family and the whole nation. “Sheng Sheng Bu Xi” means that life continues endlessly,
showing the endless energy and prosperity of the Chinese nation.
The main logo is both creative and meaningful. Its design is inspired by traditional Chinese
patterns and it uses the Oracle Bone Script(甲骨文 ) character “Si” as its creative element. In
details, there are two “Si” characters put together in a mirror image, making it look like “Yi”(乙)
and “Si(巳). This means good things will happen twice, like a double wish for luck. It’s a nice way
to connect the Snake Year with good luck and send happy blessings to everyone.

Hello there, friends! My name is Jing, and I’m in Shanghai
for the 7th China International Import Expo(国际进博会 ) in
November, 2024. Today, I get to be among the first to try out the
fastest taxis on the market at the Expo. These taxis can go as fast
as flying! Let’s take a look.
These amazing vehicles(车辆 ) are called air taxis. They are
electric vertical(垂直的) take-off and landing(eVTOL) airplane. This means they can take off and
land straight up and down like a helicopter(直升飞机) but without the noise and pollution.
Since last year, the number of companies producing eVTOLs has grown from one to four.
This shows how quickly the industry is developing. At this year’s Expo, the biggest exbibits
include passenger taxis, which is a big improvement from just cargo planes(运货飞机) shown last
year.
Some of these eVTOLs can even fly completely by themselves without needing a pilot(飞行
员 ). These super-fast and futuristic air taxis are expected to be put into use in 2026. Today,
however, I have the chance to experience a flight over the Huangpu River by wearing VR glasses.
With eVTOLs, the travel time between two airports in Shanghai can be cut from a 1-hour drive to
just a 7-minute flight.
I am really excited for the day when I can actually fly on an eVTOL!
27. What is an eVTOL
A. A helicopter. B. A cargo plane. C. An air taxi.
28. Which is NOT an example to show the rapid development of the eVTOL
A. EVTOLs can take off and land straight up and down like a helicopter.
B. EVTOLs this year include not only cargo planes but also passenger taxis.
C. The number of eVTOLs has increased from two to four this year.
29. When might people travel by taking an eVTOL
A. In 2024. B. In 2025. C. In 2026.
30. Which section(部分) could you read the passage in a newspaper
A. Sports section. B. Sci-tech section. C. Education section.

IV.读写综合(共两节,满分 25分)
第一节 简答(共 5小题;每小题 2分,满分 10分)
阅读下面短文,根据短文内容回答问题。
People sometimes think “what if something goes
wrong ” It’s normal to have these “what-if’ thoughts. We
need to understand this kind of thoughts and deal with them,
so that we will be less worried.
Worrying about the future is a common thing in life.
Sometimes, everyone will think about what will happen if
things don’t go as we want. For example, “What if I make a
mistake ” or “What if people laugh at me ” These “what-if” thoughts are all about bad results.
When we spend a lot of time thinking about bad things that might happen, we are imagining the
future as a disaster. Thinking too much about “what-if” makes us feel anxious and worried. For
example, we may feel sad and it’s hard to focus on what we are doing.
There are different ways to help ourselves. Angela McMillan suggests making an “if/then”
plan. She says, “For example, if you have to speak in front of the class, then you can take a few
deep breaths and tell yourself that you are ready and it’s okay. Or if a social event is too noisy and
you feel uncomfortable, then you can go outside for a few minutes.” We can also ask ourselves
how possible it is for something to really happen.
Angela McMillan points out that most of our worries don’t actually happen. She says,
“Remember, these are just thoughts. The bravest thing we can do is not to let worry control us.”
We should try to pay attention to what we are doing.
Being angry with ourselves will make us feel worse. So we should be nice to ourselves.
56. How can people be less worried about “what-if” thoughts
57. How will we feel if we think too much about bad results
58. According to Angela McMillan, what can you do at a noisy and uncomfortable social event
59. Will the things we are worried about always come true
60. What do you think of Angela McMillan’s suggestion
