Hi, I’m Fu Zai, a 6-month-old corgi (柯基). I’m China’s first corgi police dog! Some people think I can’t be a great police dog because of my short legs. But I’m here to tell you that they are not right!
I was a pet dog. One day, when I was 2 months old, I was playing with my owner (主人) in the park. A policeman saw me and thought I had the talent (天赋) to be a police dog. Then, I started my lessons and met my trainer (教练员). He is really nice and handsome. I learned a lot from him.
To be a police dog is not quite easy. Every day, I take classes in the morning and afternoon. As police dogs, we need to take lots of classes and tests. We have to learn a lot of different things, such as listening to orders, fighting and crossing many obstacles (障碍物). I also learn cool things like how to use my nose to find out drugs (毒品) and other dangerous things. After three to six months of lessons, we need to be excellent and strong.
My short legs make me different! I can go under cars or get into small places and look for things easily. Big dogs can’t do this but I can! My only problem is that I can’t run very fast. Animals get energy (能量) from the things that they eat. Some animals eat plants. Some eat animals. Some eat plants and animals. By looking at what eats what, we can learn how energy moves from one living thing to another.
How does energy move from animals to animals There are three levels (层次) in nature. At the first level, plants and trees make their own food. Animals and insects (昆虫) are usually in the second level. These are living things that eat things from the first level. Sometimes, they eat things from the second level, too. Some animals eat plants, and then another big animal eats them. Very small animals that you can’t even see are part of the third level.
We can imagine something like these three levels in the water, too. Some kinds of small marine animals use the sunlight to make food. Then another kind of small marine animal eats them. A fish then eats the small marine animal, and something large eats the small fish. So energy moves between animals in the water just like it moves on land.

I’m Bob. I’m from America.
Many countries have different ideas about different animals, but when we talk about pigs, we may have the same idea of them—the pigs are ugly, lazy and stupid.
Just look at the idioms (习语) in Chinese. We have “Boiling a dead pig (死猪不怕开水烫)” and “A pig looking in the mirror is still a pig.” And in English, they have “eating like a pig” and “sweating like a pig”. None of them are good.
In fact, there are some good things about pigs.
First, pigs are not stupid (愚蠢的). Their EQ is like dogs and chimpanzees (黑猩猩). They can remember things for a long time. And some pigs can learn things from people.
Second, pigs are very clean animals. On farms, they live in dirty places, so they are very dirty. In the wild (野外), pigs are often clean.
Third, pigs are very friendly animals. Some people keep them as pets. Of course, people keep the small kind, not the big kind. Small pigs are very cute.
There are cute pigs in cartoons, too. Peppa Pig, for example, a UK cartoon, becomes popular in many countries. The four pigs in the cartoon teach children about love, friendship and family. In China, we have McDull (麦兜), a pig who works hard to make his dream come true.
65.Are there any good things about pigs
66.How long can pigs remember things
67.What does Bob think of pigs
68.Do you like pigs Why or why not
65.Yes./Yes, there are. 66.For a long time./They can remember things for a long time. 67.They are not stupid, and they are very clean and friendly animals. 68.Yes. I think they are very clever.
65.根据“In fact, there are some good things about pigs.” Yes./Yes, there are.
66.根据“They can remember things for a long time”可知它们能记住很长一段时间。故填For a long time./They can remember things for a long time.
67.根据“First, pigs are not stupid”、“Second, pigs are very clean animals.”、“Third, pigs are very friendly animals.” They are not stupid, and they are very clean and friendly animals.
Yes. I think they are very clever.

69.I like giraffes very much.
do you like
What animals
故填What;animals。
— pandas
—They China.
Where do come from come/are from
Where;do;come;from;come/are;from。
71.because, dogs, like, smart, are, I, they
.
I like dogs because they are smart
主句:主语是I,动词是like,宾语是dogs;从句:because“因为”是连词,主语是they,动词是are,表语是smart。故填I like dogs because they are smart“我喜欢狗,因为它们很聪明”。
72.I don’t like tigers because they are really scary.(对画线部分提问)
you like tigers
Why don’t
73.Amy likes cats. Cats are kind of fun.
Amy likes cats are kind of fun.
【答案】because they
根据题干可知,“Cats are kind of fun.”是“Amy likes cats.” 故填because they。

Second, pigs are very clean animals. On farms, they live in dirty places, so they are very dirty. In the wild (野外), pigs are often clean.
