Also, tall people make more money and have more important jobs than short people. In the US, the taller candidate (候选人) will more possibly be a winner in the competition for the president (总统) .
It’s hard to be a short celebrity (名人) . Sarkozy (168 cm) once visited a factory to talk to the workers there. People said that he made the shortest workers stand near him so that he would look taller in the photos. When Tom Cruise (173 cm) took photos with his wife Katie Holmes (179 cm), he tried to make himself look the same height as Katie.
But life isn’t so bad for short people. Studies show shorter people can move more quickly than tall people. Short people are usually the best gymnasts and rock climbers in the world. Short people may live longer than taller people.
Let’s do something fun. Blow into a glass bottle with water. The less water in the bottle, the lower (更低的) the sound. Friendship is very important in life. Our school did a survey last week on whether friends should be the same or different. Here are the results.
20% think friends should be different. They think that having more outgoing friends can encourage them to take part in social activities. Moreover, friends who work harder can inspire them to do better in school. 30% think friends should be the same. They like having the same interests so they can enjoy activities together. Doing sports together, like playing basketball, can also make their friendship stronger. Interestingly, 50% don’t care if friends are the same or different. They think the most important thing is that friends care about each other and share fun stuff.
In my opinion, whether friends are the same or different is not the only thing that matters. Understanding and trust are key to friendship.
