A lot of parents would like to make all decisions for their children. They always think their children are too young to look after themselves well. In fact, everyone needs to live by themselves one day, so I think parents should give their children more space. Of course, that doesn’t mean parents are not important in their children’s lives. Here is some advice on helping parents get on with their children.
Firstly, talk with them more often about their school life. Parents can ask their children questions like “How do you feel today ” or “Do you have anything interesting to tell me ” In this way, parents can know more about their children.
Secondly, parents can invite their children to do the housework together. After the children finish their homework, parents can invite them to do some simple housework together. It cannot only help the children relax, but also improve the relations between parents and children.
Finally, when children are in a bad mood, parents shouldn’t ask too much. Instead. parents should care for their children in other ways. Then, children are willing to talk about their problems.
In a word, if parents respect (尊重) their children’s ideas, the children will do the same, too.
