Napping (小睡) is often connected with laziness, but it can be really helpful if done correctly. It can help improve your memory, emotions(情绪) and, of course, reduce tiredness.
If you can't get enough sleep at night because of busy work or insomnia(失眠), taking a nap can help. However, if you aren't napping properly, you might experience nighttime sleep problems or feel uncomfortable after waking up from a nap. Here, Dr. Lindsay Browning shares his suggestions on how to take the perfect nap.
First, decide the length of your nap. To make sure you don't feel uncomfortable after a nap, stick to either a short 20-minute nap or a longer nap of at least 1 hour and 30 minutes. The body has sleep cycles(周期) of one and a half hours. If you wake up in the middle of the cycle during the deep sleep phase, you may feel worse than before the nap.
Second, take naps in the early afternoon. Napping late in the afternoon can interfere with your nighttime sleep, making it harder to fall asleep at night. If your normal bedtime is around11 pm, then you shouldn't be napping any later than 2 pm.
Third, avoid unintentional (无意识的) naps. Napping unintentionally in front of screens may reduce your need for sleep later. Besides, the blue light from smartphones, televisions and computers can reduce melatonin (褪黑素) that helps you sleep.
Fourth, give yourself time after a nap. After napping, you might feel a little disoriented (迷糊的). Give yourself some time to fully wake up before starting activities, especially those that require a quick reaction, such as driving.
49. What can we get from the first two paragraphs
A. Lazy people hate to take a nap during the day.
B. Napping can make people smarter.
C. Improper napping may cause many problems.
D. People who sleep well at night don't need a nap during the day.
50. What does the underlined expression “interfere with” mean
A. make sth easier B. prevent sth from happening
C. change sth for the better D. make sth longer
51. Which of the following might Dr. Lindsay Browning agree with

B. We should take as many naps as possible.
C. The blue light from screens influences our sleep.
D. We can always feel relaxed after waking up from a nap.
52. In which part of a magazine can we probably read the passage

Smart wearable wristwatches (手表) have come a long way, offering a lot more than just telling time. They now help us stay healthy by keeping an eye on our heart rate, counting our steps, and recording how many calories we burn. What is the latest development It can tell you when to drink electrolyte (电解质) drinks while you' re exercising.
Researchers from the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science in China have created a wristwatch that can check important chemicals in our sweat (汗液). They said that sweat isn't just water; it also has electrolytes. These are really important for our health. Yang Meng, a scientist who helped with this study, says that losing too much of electrolytes when we sweat can cause heart problems. When we exercise, we sweat and lose both water and electrolytes. The new wristwatch can help by collecting sweat from our skin and checking the levels(水平) of electrolytes right away.
This isn't the first time someone has made a sweat sensor, but what's special about this wristwatch is that it can keep working well for a long time. The chief researcher, Huang Xingjiu, says it can check electrolytes in sweat for over half a year.
The researchers tested the wristwatch on athletes who were running long distances. They found that the wristwatch can tell users when their electrolyte levels are not balanced. This can help them avoid harm that happens during exercise. For people who aren't athletes, testing electrolyte levels usually requires a visit to a hospital. This wristwatch could make it easier.
The wristwatch is not as small and light as other watches you can buy, but the researchers are working on making it more comfortable to wear. They also plan to make it possible to check different things in our bodies. In the future, they hope to use this technology to help examine (检查) the environment and harmful metals. So, this wristwatch isn't just for athletes; it could help everyone stay healthier and protect our earth.
53. What does Paragraph 1 mainly tell us about wearable wristwatches
A. Their quality. B. Their designs. C. Their purposes. D. Their inventors.
54. What is the use of the new wristwatch
A. To help people control weight. B. To check users’ heart problems.
C. To remind athletes to take a rest. D. To test users' electrolyte levels in sweat.
55. Which of the following words best describe the new wristwatch
A. Useful and comfortable. B. Beautiful and light.
C. Heavy and expensive. D. Fashionable and cheap.
56. What can we infer about the wristwatch in the future
A. It will only be used by athletes. B. It will be much heavier than other watches.
C. It will be made of metal. D. It will be further improved by researchers.
