Little Free Library, an idea that was born 10 years ago, has grown into a book- sharing revolution(革命) with more than 80,000 locations.
Unlike traditional libraries, these typically small libraries aren't buildings where people check out books from a librarian.“ With different shapes and sizes, a Little Free Library is a box full of books. When you find one, you can take a book home with you,” explains Marg ret Aldrich, Little Free Library spokeswoman.“ Or if you have a book to share, you can leave it there for someone else to read.”
Little Free Libraries are everywhere: outside homes, at the street corner, inside recreational(娱乐的) centers, or beside coffee shops.
The first Little Free Library was set on a post in front of Todd Bol's home in Hudson, Wisconsin, in 2009. He filled it with books and invited neighbours to borrow them. It quickly became a local hit. The book- sharing idea soon spread from Wisconsin to front yards and school yards around the world.
In 2012, Bol and Rick Brooks, a friend and business partner, made Little Free Library a nonprofit organisation(非盈利性组织). Their goal was to help readers get more books to read and the community a better place to live.
Todd Bol worked on Little Free Library until his death in 2018. He once said,“I really believe in a Little Free Library on every block and a book in every hand.I believe people can fix their neighbourhoods, share love with each other and learn from each other.”

When people mention intelligence(智力), they do not mean the ability to get high scores on some certain kinds of tests or even the ability to do well in school. By intelligence we mean a way of living and behaving(表现), especially in a new situation. If we want to test one’s intelligence, we need to find out how he or she acts instead of how much he knows what to do.
Let's look at an example, when in a new situation, an intelligent person thinks about the situation, not about himself or what might happen to him. He tries to find out all he can, and then he acts immediately and tries to do something about it. He probably isn't sure how it will work out, but at least he tries. And if he cannot make things work out right, he doesn't feel ashamed, he just tries to learn from his mistakes. An intelligent person, even if he is very young, has a special thought on life, a special feeling about life, and how he fits into it.
When we talk about children, you' ll see great difference between what we call“ bright” children and“ non- bright” children. They are actually two different kinds of people, not just the same kind with different amount of intelligence. For example, the bright child really wants to find out about life— he tries to get in touch with everything around him. But the unintelligent child keeps more to himself and his own dream- world: he seems to have a wall between him and life in general.

C. He knows more about what might happen to him.
D. He keeps his mind on what to do about the situation.
( )31. What will an intelligent person do if he fails
A. He will try to find all he can.
B. He will learn from his mistakes.

All of us must have met passages or books that we just can't get into or we don't understand. There are many different reasons: sometimes the book is boring to read or too difficult; sometimes we find the writer is poor in explaining what he writes. It happens. Try taking the following steps.
Find your perfect reading place where you can be comfortable to read. Find out what conditions you need to be able to study and read most effectively. It may be easier for you to read at a desk in a quiet library, or in one of those relaxing chairs at coffee shops.

Don't stop reading for too long. It's probable that you give up finishing a book when the book seems too difficult. If it lasts for too long, you may forget what you' ve read. As a result, the book will be more difficult for you. So it's best to try to keep reading at your usual speed.
