Tom loves history, but he is thinking about something else today. It is a Friday in October. The weather outside is sunny and warm. Tom is excited for the weekend to begin.
It is 5 p. m. The bell finally rings. The students begin packing their schoolbags.
“Not so fast,” Mrs Brown comes in. “Before you go home, I have a special notice.” Tom is nervous because special notices usually mean more homework. He wants to play ball games with his friends this weekend. “Boys and girls,” says Mrs Brown, “We are going to have a spelling bee (拼写比赛) next Friday. There will be a winner from our class. It was a sunny weekend and I walked back home from school. When I stood in front of my house, I found I lost the key. It was very terrible for me, because I only have one key. And my parents were out for some days.
I walked around the neighborhood, wishing to find my lost key. But I didn’t find it. I called my mom and she told me to go to my aunt’s home. My aunt lived in another house of our neighborhood. I could stay with her that day, but I still needed to get my key back.
The next day when I went past the security hut (保安室) in the neighborhood, I saw something on the window (窗户). It was my key!

In the morning, we went camping along a path in Green Natural Park. We were happy because it was a sunny day. We expected an enjoyable (愉快的) two-day holiday. On the way, we kept singing and making jokes.
However, in the afternoon, when we finished our picnic at one o’clock, it was dark and windy. Soon, there was a shower. Unluckily, none of us brought an umbrella. We ran about but we could find no place to hide.
