Traditional Festivals in China
There are many traditional festivals in China,here are some of the more well-known ones:
Spring Festival is the most important festival in China. It usually celebrates in late January or early February,the beginning of a new year according to the lunar calendar. It's also known as Chinese New Year. It's a time of great celebration,family reunions,and lots of joy. During the Spring Festival,people usually clean their homes,decorate with red lanterns and couplets, have big feasts,and exchange gifts(气氛).One of the most exciting parts is the dragon and lion dance, which adds to the festive atmosphere. Children especially look forward to receiving red envelopes filled with lucky money. And don't forget the spectacular fireworks displays that light
up the night sky! It's very amazing.
Lantern Festival follows,it is a signal in the end of the Spring Festival period.Lanterns in many colors light up the night skies,and people write riddles on them to invite guessing games. People eat tangyuan or yuanxiao,the sweet glutinous rice balls symbolizing completeness andunity.
