Bert won a national prize called Young Heroes for his “green” project. This public-spirited young person was now a university student. His love for insects grew deeper and he was protecting them for the future.
Bert found his love early in life. When he was around 4 or 5, he always loved to watch different insects, especially beautiful swallowtails (凤蝶). One interesting fact he learned about swallowtails was that their bright colors warned hungry animals that they tasted bad. And it was also fun to watch how they came into being. But the reason he really fell in love with them was that they were very accessible. For example, if you wanted to attract (吸引) swallowtails, you planted some zinnias, a kind of bright flowers.
Bert started a zinnia garden at his house, where he raised a large number of swallowtails over the years. With the world’s swallowtail population falling, Bert wanted people to realize that if insects like swallowtails disappeared, so would all the others above them on the food chain. To make the fact clear and easy to understand for other students, he also created a zinnia garden at his junior high school.
Part of the joy for Bert was watching the younger students get excited when running after swallowtails.“ Whenever a swallowtail lands on them, the young students will soon fall in love with these cute insects. They develop a new appreciation for them,” he said.
Bert put his efforts into the environmental educational project and made it take flight.

Are field trips worth all the time and effort needed to make them successful Most teachers have asked themselves this question when they prepare for a field trip. The truth is that field trips can give quite a few headaches to teachers. At the same time, well–planned field trips can provide students with truly educational experiences they can’t get in the classroom. The following is a look at the advantages and disadvantages of field trips.
Field trips provide students with new chances for learning through experiences. First of all, information is presented to students by different methods. Field trips provide students with the ability to learn by doing instead of just listening to the information being taught in class. Students can have new experiences that, hopefully, open their eyes. Also, students and teachers can see each other in a different light, helping to increase communication between them. Some students who might be forgotten in class because they are quiet might really come alive on field trips.
However, teachers face a number of difficulties when planning a field trip. Field trips need
preparation if teachers want to make them meaningful. They have to carefully choose places for travelling. They also need to create an effective lesson plan that they will follow when on the outing. Besides, field trips can be expensive, and some students may not have the money to attend. Organizers of the field trip may consider asking for parents to add a few dollars to help students in need.
So next time when you plan a field trip, ...

As we know, there is plenty of plastic pollution on the earth. Many plastics are only used once. People throw away plenty of plastic waste each year. It will take hundreds of years to break down it. And plastics in the sea make millions of sea animals die every year.
A team of scientists made a new enzyme(酶) and it can break down plastic into smaller parts in a week, or sometimes in twenty-four hours. The enzyme is known as FAST-PETase, which is able to work on PET, a kind of plastic.
In tests, once the enzyme did its job of breaking the plastic down into smaller parts, the scientists then used the parts to make new kinds of plastic products. This means if a company is producing plastic products, they can collect the plastic waste to make new products.
What makes FAST-PETase even more special is that it can also work in different temperatures.
This means it can also work in outdoor environments and break down plastic in landfills(废物填埋场).
The team is hoping that, in the future, they will be able to use this enzyme to clean up polluted areas such as beaches, oceans, lands and so on. If tests are successful, we can see less plastic pollution in the future.
66. What can we learn about the enzyme from Paragraph 2
A. It can break down plastic in a short time.
B. It can help companies produce more plastics.
C. It can only work at a certain temperature.
D. It can only work on plastic products.
67. What does the underlined word “it” refer to in Paragraph 4
A. The company. B. The plastic waste.
C. The new enzyme. D. The new environment.
68. What is the best title for the passage
A. Plastic Pollution B. Fighting Against Pollution
C. A New Way of Using Plastic D. The Plastic-eating Enzyme

Many teenagers want to look cool. But not everyone can afford to keep up with the changing fashion trends (潮流). Chloe Murray, an eighth-grader at Jefferson Middle School in the US, realized this problem and started a charitable clothes closet(慈善衣橱)to help her peers.
Her school was for the idea too. The school let her use a room for the project. Murray’s classmates joined her as well. When the charitable clothes closet, Chloe’s Closet, opened, it was filled with trendy clothes for girls and boys to help students look their best. “Confidence is a real problem in middle school, especially when it comes to clothing,” Murray told the Chicago Tribune, a daily newspaper in Chicago, US.
Where are the clothes from Many people from the school’s community and neighboring
schools gave away used and new clothes. The clothes closet is only open after school. Students can “buy” these clothes by earning “money” when they turn in their schoolwork on time, make corrections on homework, take part in a school activity or express helpfulness to their peers and teachers. Since the first week in March, about 100 items have been “sold” to students.
“If you provide children with basic needs, such as clothing, they will be better able to focus on the learning material rather than pay too much attention to what they are wearing,” said Shannon Arko, a language teacher at the school, about the closet. “Feeling good about yourself translates into a better learning experience overall.”

A general was going to fight a strong enemy. He had only one-tenth the number of men the enemy had. Theirfore, the soldiers were worried. They didn’t think they could possibly win. The general thought for a while and then had an idea. He told his soldiers that they could win the fight only if they followed his new plan. However, his soldiers doubted whether he could come up with a plan that would be successful.
On the way to the battlefield, the general stopped at a temple and told his men, “After my visit to the temple, I will toss(投掷) a coin. If it comes up heads, we will win. If it comes up backs, we will lose. Destiny (命运)holds us in her hand.”

An Unforgettable Moving Moment
I’ll never forget the four-second moving moment when I took the P.E. exam for high school.
I entered the 800-meter race that day. Unluckily, I fell on the playground. Helpless and worried, I wanted to give up. Seconds later, a girl gave me a hand and encouraged me to get up. At last, I finished the race and the girl got full marks although she’d lost four seconds helping me.
Those four seconds were moving and unforgettable. A four-second moment doesn’t seem to change anything, but it taught me to never give up.
