A recent study has showed that a wearable soft robot, named Reliebo, can improve the experience of patients in medical treatments, such as injections (注射) and other unpleasant treatments. The goal of the robot is to help ease pain and defend people against anxiety. The study, led by researchers at the University of Tsukuba, was inspired in part by the numerous needles people had to put up with while being vaccinated. Some people felt an intense di like for these needs, which led to fewer people getting vaccinated.
The robot is soft and covered in fur. It contains small airbags internally that inflate(膨胀) in response to hand movement. Participants in the study who wore the robot while subjected to a medium heat stimulation, experienced less pain in the test than those who did not wear the robot.
The research team checked the effectiveness of the wearable robot while being handled by participants under certain conditions, based on the clenching (紧握) of the hand. The team placed painful heat stimulation on the other arm that was not holding the robot. They then measured cortisol (皮质醇) levels from the participants’ saliva samples, suggesting levels of stress hormones. The pain felt by the patients was given specific ratings and was also recorded using an assessment table. The people in the study were given a survey test to assess their fear of injections before and after the experiment with the wearable robot was completed.
The study proved that a wearable-informed robot may serve as a prospective tool to ease the experience of patients who were receiving injections. The research team hopes to use this study to advance the robot for use during painful situations, such as getting medical shots or similar conditions.

Travel allows us to experience the world. But as we travel, we are also leaving our footprint on every place we visit. This is why culturally immersive (沉浸) travel is so important. Because the wrong kind of travel negatively affects the world. One of the reasons we started this blog was to help others travel better and feel comfortable getting off the beaten path, interacting with locals, and take you “Beyond the traditional Bucketlist”, if you will.
People who only get 2-weeks off per year are often just looking for an easy destination with a beach to relax on. This isn’t travel. This is a vacation. But “Immersive Travel” or “Cultural Travel” is an entirely new type of trip. It is about experiencing and preserving the various traditions around the world. It’s about being open to new experiences and willing to step into another’s shoes. Cultural travel is jumping in with both feet and leaving your idea about what your trip should be behind you. It’s eating local dishes and sleeping in guesthouses. It’s building genuine connections with locals. It’s learning about the history of a country and leaving your trip with a greater understanding of the place you came to see and the people who live there.
Often times in today’s age, “travelers” will visit a country just to snap some photos of the famous sights to post on Instagram or to drink the night away, or even just to relax on a tropical beach. But that kind of vacation can be harmful to the very communities you’re traveling to.
Beyond supporting the local communities and the preservation of local customs and traditions, you’ll also experience some personal benefits through cultural travels. There’s simply no way to travel this way with a closed mind. You’ll get to know different cultures intimately and understand them a lot better. You’ll also become less judgmental of others the more you travel.
28.What’s the author’s purpose in writing the first paragraph
A.To stress the negative influence of travel.
B.To describe the importance of cultural travel.
C.To recommend a totally different type of travel.
D.To convey his unique feelings about cultural travel.
29.According to the author, today's travelers tend to_________.
A.establish close connections with the locals during the travel
B.choose a tourist attraction for adventure and exploration
C.show more interest in the history of a travel destination
D.post the photos taken in the journey on the social media
30.What can be inferred about the culturally immersive travel
A.It is focused on studying local people's lifestyle.
B.Its travelers should be open-minded and understanding.
C.It is a specific way to make judgments of other cultures.
D.Its major concern is preserving local traditions and customs.
31.Where is the text probably taken from
A.A travel brochure. B.A blog post.
C.A historic magazine. D.An encyclopedia website.
Ten years after introducing “Google Glass”, Alphabet Inc. has created a new kind of smart eyeglasses. The company says the wearable computer device can translate different languages in real time.
A working model of the yet-unnamed device was presented to the public this week during the yearly Google I/O developer conference. Google did not say when the glasses might go on sale to the public.
The first Google Glass device included a wearable camera that could film what the wearers saw. That caused widespread privacy concerns. The camera element also gave Google Glass a kind of science-fiction look. The latest device looks more similar to traditional glasses.
A brief demonstration of the new eyeglasses described its translation ability, but did not provide additional details. This includes company offerings for searching and viewing maps, as well as other services using the latest developments in artificial intelligence.

32.What can we learn about the smart eyeglasses
A.They have a kind of science-fiction look. B.They can translate some languages into oral English.
C.They will be equipped with a camera. D.They can help certain people remove language barriers.

A.To share a wearable computer device on sale. B.To advertise the smart eyeglasses for sale.

34.Who are the smart eyeglasses most likely intended for
A.Deaf men at international conferences. B.E-readers reading foreign original works.

35.What’s Eddie Chung’s attitude towards the new eyeglasses

When he was a boy, Marco was so shy. He always hid behind his hair, which he wore long around his face and cars. To make it worse, Marco was naturally shorter than the other kids. And because his good marks had allowed him to skip to the higher grade, he was younger than everyone else. This added nothing to his already low self-confidence.
Marco’s father was so busy with his work that Marco felt that his father had little time for him.
Except for his demands for excellent performances in school, communication didn’t exist. It seemed to Marco the only time his dad ever spoke to him was to be demanding or critical. Therefore, Marco sank further into his low self-confidence and felt unappreciated, depressed and confused.
One day his father, already tired after a long day, tripped over (被绊倒) Marco’s bike in the garage. He put the blame on Marco’s not placing the bike in the right way. Hearing this, Marco couldn’t bear and shouted to his father: “No matter how hard I tried, I could never do anything right!”Marco ran to his room angrily and sadly, leaving his father standing frozen there for a long time.
Two days later, his aunt called him. She said she had just seen some young teenagers participate in a public speaking contest. She thought he should give it a try. She told him she firmly believed he could perform on stage like the other kids, since she had seen his humorous performance for the family at Christmas.
Marco was extremely shocked. Him On stage In a public speaking contest To agree would be contrary to his entire shy personality. But Aunt Ginette was so confident and seemed really serious. Feeling her strong belief, Marco went against everything he had ever done or felt, and agreed to enter the contest. All that winter, Marco tried his best to practice. He was taken by an energy he never felt before. However, all this seemed to bring no changes to his father. His father just feared it would take away from his homework time and impact his marks.

【原文】W: Welcome to Sabie Sands Park. This place isn’t just my business. It’s my passion coming to life. I grew up in India, and I spent so much of my childhood caring for animals. It wasn’t until I went to the boarding school in the city that I saw how urban people lived. It wasn’t just the lack of fresh air that surprised me. It was the complete absence of knowledge of nature and animals as well. My business partner and I grew up on a farm with very little money. But luckily for us, we were able to secure money for our business through rounds of investment. Originally, all of our investors recommended opening a public zoo and selling hundreds of tickets per day at around $20 each. Instead, we decided to make our park a more interactive experience. These days we bring in young students to work side by side with our staff. Children then get a free educational program in animal caretaking. However, we are also open to the public, in which we provide family tours and accommodation for the price from $30 to $100 per person. We’ve expanded our park to bring in all but the most dangerous animals. Of course, we want to provide children the experience of seeing animals like giraffes and elephants, but lions and wolves would be too dangerous. Now, we hope to add new members to our management team to take over daily operations while my current partner and I get older.
