A. Choose the best answer (根据以下内容,选择最恰当的答案)
As we all know, something can be done to reduce pressure. When you’re competing
in sports, you need a lot of energy. One secret to have lots of energy is to get plenty of
sleep. Be sure to get to bed on time or even a little earlier the night before a big game.
And don’t forget to eat well on game day.
Try to attend all of your team’s practices. By practicing, you’ll improve your
playing skills and your team will learn how to work together. What’s more, try to find a
way to relax right before the game. You might take a few slow, deep breaths or do some gentle stretches to warm
up your body.
If the two steps don’t help, and you still feel sick or sad about your sports, you should talk with your parents or coach. Too much pressure can come from your coach, your parents, your teammates, or even from yourself. If your coach or parents are making you nervous, talk to them about what would make you feel more confident during
practice and games.
If the pressure is too much, it’s OK to decide that you want to take a break from sports competition. You might decide to return to the team next season. Or you might keep doing your sports, but without being part of a
team.
If neither one of those solutions seems right, it could be time to try something new. There are dozens of sports and activities that kids can do. Your job is to find the ones that you like best and do them regularly. With or without
a team, you’ll win by being an active kid.

More than 90% of the world’s population is right-handed. But if you’re left-handed, don’t feel a 1 in a
right-handed world. There are hundreds of millions of left-handed people there!
What makes a person left-handed(or right-handed)
Scientists aren’t sure why some people turn out to be left-handed. But they
have d 2 being left-handed runs in families. Since you get all your genes( 基
因 ) from your parents, you might be left-handed because your parents are
left-handed. But genes can’t be the whole story because some kids have
right-handed parents and still become left-handed.
Getting hurt can also make a person a left-handed one. Sometimes right-handed people b 3 hurt their right hand and can’t use it any more. They usually learn to use their left hand and become left-handed. Left-handed
people can also become right-handed if they hurt their left hand. So it works both ways.
Are left-handed people more creative
For both right-handed people and left-handed people, the brain has two p 4 called hemispheres(半球). One hemisphere is on the right of your head, and the other is on the left. The right hemisphere controls movement
on the left half of the body, which includes the left hand. And the left hemisphere controls movements on the right.
Creative thought (writing a song, drawing a picture) usually happens on the right side of the brain. So if you’re left-handed, you’re believed to have a lot of creative thought going on. However, it may be not t 5 . The two sides of your brain work together when you think. So using your left hand doesn’t mean that you only think with
only one side of your brain.
Do you f 6 in a right-handed world
Since most people are right-handed, many things are designed to be used on someone’s right hand. Now, many companies make left-handed things, i 7 scissors and even musical instruments. It’s easier for left-handed
people to enjoy the life than before.

Ernest Hemingway was born in 1899 in the state of Illinois. His father was a doctor and his mother taught music lessons. When Hemingway was young, the family owned a house on a lake where they spend the summers. Hemingway learned to hunt, fish, and camp in the woods and lakes. His early experiences with nature made him interested in outdoor
adventure, hunting and fishing.
After graduating from high school in 1918, Hemingway worked as a reporter for a
newspaper named the Kansas City Star. During World War I, Hemingway, at the age of 19, volunteered to become an ambulance driver for the Red Cross in Italy. He got wounded in a battle and was sent to a hospital in Milan. He fell in love with Agnes, a Red Cross nurse seven years older than he. They planned to marry; however, Agnes
married someone else in 1919.
Later, Hemingway began writing and travelling around the world. In 1925, his first novel, The Sun Also Rises, came out. It is widely considered his best work.
You
might decide to return to the team next season.
