(2023·福建泉州·统考三模)In China, each year we produce about 150 million tons of city waste according to a report. Where does the waste go People usually burn or bury (埋) it. On the other hand, we receive waste from some developed countries. We get useful materials from it. What about the useless part Still burned or buried. But is it a proper way
Waste pollutes the environment, harms people’s health and causes animals to die. It also gets in the way of green and sustainable development. We can’t make money at the cost of the environment. We should leave clean water and green mountains to our next generations (一代人).
China is getting really serious about waste now.
We are taking less waste from developed countries. From January 2018, China started to stop 24 kinds of waste coming into our country. And more laws and rules about dealing with waste have been made. Anyone who breaks the law will be punished.
China also tries to put waste into good use. One example is the waste electricity factories. They burn waste to make electricity in a green way. No harmful gases or water will get into the environment.
The Chinese government is encouraging people to do waste sorting. Cities like Shanghai, Chongqing and Beijing have their own sorting systems. More will join them soon. As President Xi Jinping said during a visit to Shanghai, waste sorting is a new fashion. More and more people are forming the habit of separating their waste.

(2023·福建三明·统考一模)For most people, the simple, cheap and common bicycle is just a way of transportation. But the United Nations sees it as a useful tool to deal with climate change.
On March 15, the UN General Assembly passed a resolution(决议) suggesting bicycles as a tool for solving problems about climate change.
It calls on member countries to choose bicycles in public transportation systems. The more people choose bicycles instead of cars, the fewer greenhouse gas emissions(温室气体排放) will be produced. What’s more, it pays attention to bicycle-sharing services.
The resolution from the UN came at a time when climate change returned to the center of global(全球的) attention. On Feb. 28, the UN gave people a new report on climate change. It warns that the global average(平均的) temperature will rise by 1. 5℃ above pre-industrial(工业化前的) levels. More than 40 percent of the world’s population will be influenced by climate change.
The UN said transportation is the third-largest producer of carbon dioxide (CO2), a greenhouse gas that causes global warming. Choosing a bike over a car just once a day can reduce a person’s transportation carbon emissions by 67 percent according to a study from the University of Oxford.
The UN resolution could be seen as an acceptance of China’s 14 years’ hard work of bike sharing. More than 360 Chinese cities have bike-sharing systems that include nearly 20 million bicycles for an average of 47 million trips each day, said China’s Ministry of Transport. China’s bike-sharing systems can help reduce CO2 by 4. 8 million tons every year.

(2023·福建福州·福建省福州屏东中学校考模拟预测)Planting trees can cut down CO2 in the air, but just doing this isn’t enough to deal with climate change. Now one way discussed widely is carbon capture (碳捕获). It refers to the technology that can protect the earth against climate change by cutting down CO2 in the air.
Carbon capture technology is used to collect CO2 that is given off by factories. For example, it can be fitted to coal-burning power stations and factories to capture the CO2 before it is given off by factories. The captured CO2 can then be liquefied (液化) and stored underground. Besides, the technology can also be used to collect the CO2 that has already gone into the air.
Then how can we deal with the CO2 we capture Proper utilization is truly important. It can not only help create markets for this new technology, but also make it cheaper for companies to use. Nowadays, CO2 is used in greenhouses to grow vegetables. CO2 can even be used to make useful products, such as plastics, building materials, and paints.
Carbon capture is considered to be quite helpful. However, there are many problems on the way. There’s 50 billion tons of carbon going out to the air from cars and factories every year. But even a great number of carbon capture machines now can capture only a few dozens of tons of it. The thickness of CO2, in the open air is about 300 times less than that in the power stations or factories, making it much less efficient to capture CO2. Because of this, carbon capture machines are very expensive today. So, it’s hard to make a real difference in fighting climate change now. But it will be improved quickly and will become cheaper and more efficient. It is like the mobile phones which were expensive and difficult to use 20 years ago. But now mobile phones have been greatly improved.
26.What can carbon capture technology be used for
A.Helping protect trees. B.Cutting down CO2 in the air.
C.Studying the condition of the air. D.Checking signs of climate change.
27.What does Paragraph 2 mainly talk about
A.The ways in which the technology works.
B.The advantage of the technology.
C.Tho secrets behind the technology.
D.The development of the technology
28.What does the underlined word “utilization” refer to
A.Storing CO2. B.Collecting CO2. C.Using CO2. D.Producing CO2.
29.What can we know from the passage
A.The market for CO2 products is growing fast.
B.Carbon capture technology hasn’t been widely used.
C.The cost of fixing the carbon capture machines is high.
D.There is more CO2 in the open air than that in factories.
30.Why does the writer mention the example of mobile phones
A.To express the personal interest in mobile phones.
B.To show carbon capture technology will be improved.
C.To raise a new topic of how technology influences our life.
D.To advise readers to take an interest in the development of technology.

(2022春·福建厦门·九年级厦门市湖里中学校考期中)Historically, most cars have run on gasoline (汽油), but that may change in the future: cars can also run on other liquid fuels (液体燃料) and electricity.
Gasoline is from oil. The energy in gasoline comes from hydrocarbons (碳氢化合物). Gasoline provides great power for cars. However, it causes environmental problems, like air pollution and temperature rise. So gasoline can’t be the best fuel.
Another choice is electricity. Electricity cars can be as efficient as cars using gasoline, and they produce less pollution. But electric cars themselves are more expensive. Good news is that the cost has been lower and there are more and more places for the cars to get electricity ever since 2010.
The other choices are other liquid fuels. Many of these can be stored in the same places as gasoline, and used in the same cars. They can also be friendly to the environment.
One way to make such fuels is to get CO2 from the air and put it in water. Through chemical reaction, hydrocarbons can be created. However, these fuels take up more space.
Another way is to make such fuels from plants which take in carbon from the air. These fuels are greener in use. But not all of them can be as efficient as gasoline.
For a fuel to be the best, people have to be able to afford it. Unluckily, almost every green technology is more expensive than that of using gasoline. Governments and car producers are doing everything they can to cut down the costs. In the end, the best fuel will be both affordable for car users and green for our planet.
36.Gasoline provides cars with ________.
A.great power B.fresh air C.clean water D.enough space

A.环保的 B.节能的 C.昂贵的 D.效能好的

A.produce less pollution B.will become more and more expensive
C.will become more popular D.are more efficient than those using gasoline
39.The structure of the passage may be ________.
A. B. C. D.
40.What would be the best title for the passage
