1. We are leaving for Japan soon.
①leave vt.离开; ...处于某种状态( leave-left-left / leaving)
Eg. leave home离家(短暂性动词)-be away from home (延续性动词)
Eg. Could you tell how long they have been away from Wuxi 你能告诉我他们离开无锡多久了
leave for... 前往某地, 动身去某地
leave sp. for sp.离开某地前往另一个地方
Eg. -Where is your father -He has left for Beijing. 相当于He has gone to Beijing.
leave sth. sp.把某物遗忘在某地(注意此用法中不用forget) Eg. leave my bag on the bus
leave sth. adj. / prep. / doing.
Eg. leave the window open让窗户开着 leave me alone让我一个人呆着 leave the tap running让水龙头开着
②部分瞬间动词的现在进行时可表示将来含义,这类动词为:go,come, leave, start, arrive, return, send, move, travel, fly, die等

In American schools there is something called Home-coming Day. Many high schools and colleges with a football team have a home-coming game. This can be the most important event of the year except graduation (毕业) day. Students plan Home-coming Day for many weeks in advance.
