一、重点单词及拓展：
very, too, quite, rather, so都可以作为程度副词，修饰动词、形容词、副词表示程度。
very 最普通，表示“非常，很”，放在形容词或副词之前。
例：Tom is a very careful boy. 汤姆是一个很细心的男孩。
2）too 表示“太”，用在形容词或副词之前。
短语：too...to do sth. 太......而不能做某事（表示否定意思）
例：This question is too difficult. 这个问题太难了。
This question is too difficult to answer. 这个问题太难了，不能回答。
3）quiet, rather都表示“相当”，程度要比very略高，但所放位置与very不同。
例：That is quite/rather a nice car. = That is a very nice car. 那是一辆相当漂亮的车。
so, 表示“如此”“太”
常用结构：so...that + 句子 如此......以至于
例：Mum walked so fast that I couldn’t catch up with her. 妈妈走得太快，我跟不上她了。
The man was so angry that he couldn’t say a word. 那个男人太生气了以至于一句话也说不出来。
表示长度的单词

表示重量的单词
kilogram / kilo(kg) 千克 gram(g) 克 ton(t) 吨
表示长、宽、高、深等意思的形容词、名词及动词

动词 lengthen 加长 widen 加宽 heighten 加高 deepen 加深
end的用法
1）动词，结束；终结；使......结束
例：The movie ended just now. 电影刚刚结束。
They ended the meeting in the morning. 他们在早上结束了会议。
2）名词，结局；结尾；尽头
例：I like the end of the book. 我喜欢这本书的结局。
There is a shop at the end of the street. 街道的尽头有一家商店。
短语：in the end = at last = finally 最后，最终
at the end of...在......的末端/最后
例：In the end, we left Tom alone. 最后，我们把Tom单独留下了。
反义词：start/beginning 名词，开始
造句练习：
我们的老师都很年轻。
那本书太有趣了以至于我无法停止阅读。
电影结束时，记得给我打电话。
在路的尽头有一家宾馆。
二、语法知识点
1.“数词+名词+形容词”结构合成的形容词
1）这个结构词与词中间没有连字符“-”,名词用复数形式（数词大于1时），此结构在句子中做表语。
例：The street is 5 meters wide. 这条大街有5米宽。
That mountain is over 1000 meters high. 那座大山有1000多米高。
2）这个结构词与词中间有连字符“-”，名词用单数，此结构在句子中做定语。
例：Tom is a 1.6-meter-tall boy. Tom是一个1.6米高的男孩。
We will have a 3-day-long holiday. 我们将要有一个3天长的假期。
how +形容词引导的特殊疑问句
how long 表示多长时间，主要用来对一段时间提问。
例：--How long did he stay here 他在这儿呆了多久
--About two weeks. 大约两个星期。
how long还可以表示某物有多长。
例：--How long is the river 这条河有多长？
--About 500 km. 大约500千米。
2）how often 指每隔多久，主要用来对频度副词或状语提问。
例：--How often does he come here 他(每隔)多久来一次
--Once a month. 每月一次。
3）how soon 指再过多久，主要用来对表示将来的一段时间提问。
例：--How soon will he be back 他要多久才回来
--In an hour. 1 小时以后。
4）how far 询问距离的远近。
例：--How far is it from here to the zoo
--6 kilometre.
其它如how tall 多高，how wide多宽 how deep 多深等，只需要两个词意思加一起即可。
注意：How + 形容词的结构也可以替换成What + be动词+名词的结构，表达询问某人/某物的高度、长度等。
