One subway line in Jinan, Shandong Province has become the first in China to use 3 D facial recognition（人脸识别） technology. After downloading the required ape — the Jinan Metro ape, passengers can enter the station just by looking into a screen at the turns tile (旋 转栅门). The process takes around two seconds, which is faster than scanning a QR code （扫描二维码）. The new technology greatly speeds up entry time. According to a worker at Jinan Rail Transit Group, about 30 to 40 passengers can pass through the turns tile every minute.
Today facial recognition is more and more present in our lives. At KFC stones across China, customers can order their meals by scanning their faces in front of a self-serving screen, which has been around since 2017. In many banks like Bank of China, customers can get money by scanning their faces, without the need for a bank card or even a mobile phone. At some airports like Shanghai Hongqiao international Airport, the security check （安检）process can be completed in about 12 seconds thanks to facial recognition technology.
