Greetings from Dubai. I am here with my family for a wonderful holiday. Dubai is an amazing place and I have just come back from a tour of the most fantastic hotel in the world, the Burj-al-Arab. People say it is the only seven-star hotel in the world.
The hotel stands on a man-made island. It was once the tallest hotel in the world and is an amazing building. The architects have designed it to look like a very beautiful Arab dhow heading out to sea.Inside the hotel almost everything is decorated with gold leaf and all the floors are marble. The lobby is very large and there is a lovely fountain. We couldn’t see any of the bedrooms, but I can imagine that they would be lovely too. One of the hotel’s restaurants makes you feel like you are under the sea, because there are glass walls on each side. There is another restaurant at the top of the hotel with the most amazing views.
The tour guide told us that the hotel cost $650 million to build, and the most expensive room cost $28,000 per night. He also told us that lots of famous people had stayed there. Roger Federe and Andre Agassi even played a tennis match on the roof!
