In the world, a five-day work week is common. But in some places, people are exploring(探索) the idea of working four days a week. The idea isn't new, and some companies have been slow to try it. But leaders of some companies may worry that workers can't finish the work, or that it could have other troubles.
Last June, 6l companies in the UK took part in the test of a four-day workweek. They asked their workers to do as much in four days as they usually did in five. The test lasted for six months and turned out to be good for both companies and workers.
In general, the workers said the four-day work week made them less tired, and 39% said they felt less stressed. 73% of the workers were more satisfied(满意的)with the time they spent working. According to the results, the number of days when workers were out sick dropped by 65%. 57% fewer people gave up their jobs during the test. At the same time, the companies made more money. The results are so positive(积极的) that 92% of the companies are planning to keep the new schedule(时间表).
